OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG *________*
Note to those Smallville fans planning to attend Sunday’s event at Comic-Con: You may want to get in line now because a very special guest has just been added to the panel.
Tom freakin’ Welling!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Welling will make his first-ever Con appearance at the show’s panel discussion on Sunday. He joins exec producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson, as well as fellow cast members Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman, Justin Hartley and Callum Blue.
This will mark the first time in Smallville history that the entire current cast will be assembled for Comic-Con.
And I repeat: Get in line NOW!

A couple of years ago, it was announced that Richard Stanley (pictured), director of HARDWARE (coming soon on DVD, as we first reported here) and DUST DEVIL, was planning to make his big-screen comeback with an apocalyptic thriller called VACATION, to star Bruce Campbell. Then the news well on that one went dry—but Fango hears that the project is back on track again, with a new star.
Tom Welling, who plays Clark Kent/Superman on TV’s SMALLVILLE and also starred in the remake of THE FOG, is said to be taking over for Campbell in the story of a coke-addicted banker who travels with his stripper girlfriend to a seedy Middle Eastern resort. Their own personal problems soon pale before the disaster that strikes in the form of freak solar storms that eradicate all means of communication, leaving them stranded in an extremely hostile environment. Stanley wrote the screenplay with Maggie Moor, with whom he also created the short film THE SEA OF PERDITION, which you can see along with more info on what Stanley’s up to at the filmmaker’s MySpace page. Keep your eyes here for further updates on VACATION.

10:30-11:30 Smallville Screening and Q&A– Comic-Con favorite Smallville returns, as showrunners Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson join cast members Allison Mack (The Ant Bully), Erica Durance (House of the Dead), Cassidy Freeman (Finishing the Game: The Search for a New Bruce Lee), Justin Hartley (Gemini Division) and new series star Callum Blue (The Tudors), who will be playing the villainous Zod, to talk about the year ahead, answer fan questions and give an exclusive sneak peek at clips from season nine. Award-winning comic book writer, Emmy-nominated film and television writer/producer, and Smallville alum Jeph Loeb (Heroes) will moderate the session. From Tollin/Robbins Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Smallville will air Fridays at 8:00 PM this fall on The CW, premiering September 25. Smallville: The Complete Eighth Season will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Hi Def August 25. Room 6BCF
Reason: Ignoring the fact that Tom Welling never attends these sorts of events, this panel should be a good one. What’s up for this next season? With all the rumors swirling around, I can’t wait to see the sneak peek clips!

Question: They’re have been conflicting reports about where Smallville is heading in the romance department this year. Is it the season of Clois, or are they really revisiting Lois and Ollie again? –Jeff
